Accountability software for coaches

Accountability is one of the most reliable mechanisms through which coaching produces lasting change. When a commitment is stated clearly, given a timeline, and known to be accounted for in the next session, follow-through goes up. Exantur builds accountability into the coaching relationship as a native feature.

It is part of Exantur, coaching practice management software built for the practice of professional coaching, not adapted from a generic project management tool.

Commitments that persist across sessions

Accountability items are created for a client, given a due date and a completion status. They are not attached to a single session, an item created in session two stays visible and tracked in sessions three, four and five until it is completed or explicitly closed.

Check-ins keep momentum between sessions

Between sessions, coachees complete short, focused check-ins through their portal, responding to questions about their current state and progress on active goals. Coaches design the format using standard question sets or custom sequences per client.

Habits and streaks for recurring commitments

Not every commitment is a one-off. For the behaviours a client is building, a daily practice, a weekly rhythm, Exantur has native habit-trackers: recurring items the coachee ticks off, with streaks that make consistency visible and compliance a coach can see at a glance. The occasional action point and the repeated habit sit in the same accountability system, so building and maintaining a behaviour is tracked the way it actually happens.

Visible progress for both sides

Coachees update the status of their own commitments in the portal; coaches see outstanding items at a glance on the client record. Accountability stops being something managed in a separate app and becomes part of the relationship.

Frequently asked questions

Do clients update their own accountability items?
Yes. Coachees can see and update the status of their commitments in the portal, and coaches see what is outstanding on the client record.
Does it track habits and streaks?
Yes. Alongside one-off commitments, native habit-trackers handle recurring practices, with streaks that make consistency visible and compliance the coach can see at a glance.
How is this different from a to-do app?
Accountability items live inside the coaching relationship, tied to the client, visible across sessions, and paired with check-ins, rather than in a disconnected task list.
